The latest deluxe 7" on The Great Pop Supplement comes courtesy of Jack Rose And The Black Twigs. The moment the needle hits the 45 with 'Revolt' your ears are treated to a real upbeat beer spilling twanger of a tune. You may be familiar with this song from his recent 'Dr Ragtime' album. It's a jolly old number with the extra bonus of The Black Twigs adding harmonica and lapsteel into the mix. This total authentic bluegrass gear has been lovingly recorded with a real bright sound coming from all the strings.'Soft Steel Piston' is a similarly upbeat cut with a pure feelgood hoedown party vibe. I can just imagine folks going crazy and dancing around chucking ale and bourbon everywhere. Apparently this is Jacks personal favourite 45 so far.
