That seldom-ventured alignment of planets corporeal and otherwise has occurred and the Black Twig Astro Myth Serenaders are heading out for a week of road shows, the band's first pseudo-extended road jaunt since '04, but starting and ending with visits to the close-to-home:
To whit:
This Friday, April 6, the Black Twigs return to the Green Dolphin in Roanoke. Showtime is 9 p.m., and no cover. Music continues into the a.m.
And on the auspicious day of Friday, April 13, the Black Twigs join the cast at the weekly jamboree at the newly renovated Floyd Country Store. Jamboree starts at 6:30 p.m. I think the Twigs have the 8:30 slot, but I'm not sure. Cover traditionally is $3 for something like 4 hours of music and dance.
And on Saturday, April 14, the Black Twigs are back at the Cellar in Blacksburg, holding down the monthly residency and sawing the strings from 9 p.m. until sometime Sunday.
And in between: The Twigs will be at Uncle Pleasant's in Louisville, Ky., on Sunday, April 8, with Charlie Parr (www.charlieparr.com); at the Drunken Unicorn in Atlanta on Monday, April 9, with Charlie and Jack Rose; at Poe's in Richmond on Wednesday, April 11, with Charlie, and at Starr Hill Brewery in Charlottesville on Thursday, April 12, with Holy Bear & the Crossing.
A tour cdr is being assembled from the kilometers of recordings that've been stacking up since last year. It'll be some sort of glimpse of what's intended to be the next (but still, despite all the kilometers, largely unrecorded, we think) Twigs album.
Feel free to forward this info to the cosmos.
