Mikel Dimmick Spiral Joy Band: New releases!
Three brand-new Spiral Joy Band releases in the catalog, charting the flurry of activity around the band in the past year, from the Virginia quartet's improvisational stalking of an eternal fiddle melody on "Little Sparrow" to the newer Wisconsin incarnation of the band's reed-bliss-overload on "Tilling the Soil" and careful, brilliant duo constructions on "Black Earth Hymns." Taken together (and really, they should be), the CD, CDR and cassette make an imposing statement about the life we should be living, or something -- a giant leap forward toward an imagined 24 hours of Spiral Joy.
