Jack Rose: Jack Rose update
Hello everyone, ....I have some shows coming up that I hope a few of you can come check out. Again I'd like to send out my apologies to the folks who came out to cancelled big jar show with mv/ee and samara lubelski. Stuff like this happens and it was beyond our control. The show will be rescheduled at some point. Also, If you haven't checked out my website, try here It hasn't been updated in a while, but we'll have the new info up very soon. If any of you folks are record collectors, another copy of the 78" that was just released on Life is Hard will be going up on ebay tomorrow thru tequilasunriserecords. I'll be using the money for a plane ticket to the west coast for my up coming tour. I'll have cd copies of "Kensington Blues" while on tour and hopefully copies of my new single due out out soon on the sacred harp library label ou! t of London. On to the gigs.

Aug 12: Sapat and Fursaxa
Most of you know the sounds of fursaxa. Sapat is 5-8 piece group from Louisville that was described by Mike Rep as being a "more primitive version of Amon Duul 2". Well that's good enough for me as it should be for the rest of you.
Sept 30: Daniel Higgs and Andy Jiles
Daniel Higgs from Lungfish just did an amazing performance of poetry, solo jews harp and middle eastern flavored guitar soli at the espershaus this summer. I was truly knocked out and now he's back for a 2nd philly performance. Andy Jiles is from Philly and is an excellent guitarist in the tabletop, prepared tradition.
Oct 1: Paul Metzger and Erik Wivinus Both from Minneapolis and both will be playing raga influenced music. I just got Paul's debut LP and it's masterful. Raga guitar that's not directly related to the fahey, bull and basho axis. Paul performs his music on homemade/modified banjo and guitar. Wivinus is a member of the pysch group, salamander. I havent heard his solo guitar stuff yet, but I'm sure it is good.

Sept 28: Tequila Sunrise label launch at Standard Tap, corner of Poplar and N 2nd. 9:30 Jack Rose Micah Blue Smaldone John Haywood
Copies of the"Kensington Blues" LP will be available. The show will feature DJ's sets of old timey music between sets. Should be a really good time and the venue is awesome with many excellent local beers to choose from.
There will be some other dates this year in NYC, Chicago, UK and Ireland in Dec and maybe a date in DC in sept. Dates will be posted on the site as they are confirmed
